Carabelle Marsh

Carabelle is a small town at the panhandle of Florida’s Gulf coast. Good fishing here and nice marsh scenes to paint. I painted this while on the second story of a marina. Carabelle can be seen in the distance. After filming this for our PBS television series we got to take a boat ride to Dog Island which is a few miles offshore. This painting was done using only the colors of titanium white, ultramarine blue, Indian yellow, and alizarin crimson. A simple palette of colors like this helps to give the painting harmony.
