Caladesi Island

Caladesi Island is the very next island north of Clearwater Beach on the west coast of Florida. The only way to get there is by boat. A small passenger ferry boat goes over to the island but the day I painted this we were on the south end of the island where few people visit. It was a lovely beach morning and I set up my paints and easel right on the beach while we filmed this program for our PBS television series “Painting and Travel.”
