Alligator Creek

This painting was done just a few feet from my studio and home when I lived in Clearwater, Florida and also became one of our “Painting and Travel” PBS television shows. Below are a few pictures of the house and studio. The railroad caboose was a favorite of mine. I restored and loved owning it. The larger three story building was my studio and the building on the left was the house but both were connected with decks. When I painted this, I set up a folding chair right in the creek and painted. As I did one of the daily freight trains passed by. The first photo is the creek looking down from the first deck of my studio. There were two other decks above that. Otters were often seen in the creek but in the many years I lived there I only saw one alligator. It was a lovely place.
