Vanderhorst Plantation

This is the road leading in to the Vanderhorst Plantation which  is located on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. For many years it was abandoned and is severe disrepair. Now it it privately owned and beautifully kept.  I taught a workshop there and did this painting while teaching. We also filmed one of our PBS television shows while I was painting this particular scene.
