Painted at the Marjorie Kinnan Rowlings house in Cross Creek, Florida just south of Gainsville. This is where the author wrote her book The Yearling. This particular building on the property was used for guests and has been preserved along with her modest house very much the way it was when she lived there. I was particularly attracted to the many varied textures in the landscape and structure and the pattern of light as it swept across the side of the house.
