Join artist Roger Bansemer and narrator Sarah Shurcliff Bansemer on an artistic journey of travel and painting on location throughout the country. This new PBS series, “Painting and Travel with Roger & Sarah Bansemer”, will instruct, enlighten and entertain you with personal insights regarding choosing a subject, importance of color, value, and feelings about putting brush to canvas, as well as a tour of the sights in the surrounding area. Painting students will be thrilled with this opportunity to learn and those who don’t paint will be fascinated by the process and candid thoughts shared by Roger about his life long passion and sole profession.

Sarah may lead you through an antique automobile museum where Roger is painting a 1931 Cord, the interior of an hundred year old round barn, a railroad steam engine repair shop, an historic home, or a flea market in Amish country. She loves to interview people along the way as she explores the locale.

The programs are shot in HD by Roger and Sarah who film all the episodes as well as choose the locations for the shoot. They carry their camera equipment, paints and easel with them in their motor home as they take the back roads discovering out of the way places and famous landmarks.

Air dates will be announced when the first series finishes production and all final details are met.

Host Roger Bansemer's technical know-how and experience in videography translates well from the canvas to the screen. About Roger Bansemer
A graduate of Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, Roger’s prolific career as an artist covers a wide spectrum, from earlier abstract works to the present day representational paintings of landscapes, shorebirds, wildlife, beachscapes, and nautical themes.
He has eight published books featuring his paintings with forewords by author James A. Michener, artist James Rosenquist, and film maker James Cameron. Roger has been the guest of two expeditions to the Titanic wreck site, an is the first artist ever to have made paintings while in a three person submersible hovering over the bow of Titanic. His other adventures include logging over 700 flights as a hot-air balloonist.

About Sarah Shurcliff Bansemer
Sarah studied music and drama at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and has always had an eye for beauty and a love of travel. She is co-producer of the series and narrates the travelogue part of each episode with her gentle voice and easy going style. Recently completed is a childrens’ book, “What Teddy Likes”.
