Journey to Titanic
St. Johns, Newfoundland Canada to the wreck site
Roger is invited to be a part of an expedition to the Titanic. Leaving from St. Johns, Newfoundland, Roger boards the Russian ship, Keldysh and spends the next two weeks at sea over the wreck site of the Titanic to create a number of original paintings. Inside the deep sea submersible some 12,500 feet below the surface Roger uses acrylics to work on paintings while hovering over the bow of the Titanic.
Balloon Festival
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Painting and Travel take to the air during the Albuquerque, New Mexico Hot Air Balloon Fiesta where hundreds of balloons come from around the world to participate. Roger describes the process of creating a 100 foot tall balloon mural on the side of a hotel. He also paints a scene of a colorful balloon using acrylics. Sarah takes you on a flight high above the desert.
Belle Isle
Belle Isle Park – Detroit, Michigan
Sarah and Roger stop in Detroit, Michigan to visit the renowned Detroit Institute of Arts later swinging by the famous Motown recording studio. They also explore Belle Isle Park and view the impressive city skyline. Roger chooses to paint the iconic fountain using a limited palette of oils on a 20×30″ canvas back in his studio.
