This painting depicts a scene just a few feet from our studio and home where we lived in Clearwater, Florida for many years. This is also where we began developing our series for PBS called “Painting and Travel”. When I painted this I set up a folding chair right in the creek.
Below are a few pictures of the house and studio. The railroad caboose was a favorite of mine. I restored and loved owning it. The first photo below is the creek looking down from the first deck of my studio. Otters were often seen in the creek but in the many years I lived there I only saw one alligator. It was a lovely place.
