Cedar Key, Florida, was the inspiration for this painting. Bay shrimpers stay close to shore and go out just for the day to catch shrimp. These boats never seem to be kept in first class order, but that gives them lots of character for artists. The low tide with oysters in the mud made nice reflections to work with.
