In 2000 I had the opportunity to be part of an expedition to the Titanic. The Russian submersibles Mir I and Mir II were used to make the dive since they are one of the very few vehicles that can descend to the depth of 12,500 feet. Generally both submersibles are launched and this is the view I saw from the small viewport of the submersible I was in. Shortly after this each submersible went its own way to explore the ships remains. This painting was created back in my studio after the dive and is featured in my book “Journey to Titanic” with a foreword by filmmaker James Cameron.
