Sarah and I took a walk on one of the short trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We came across this area called Pink Beds, not sure why it was called that but it was a lovely area where beavers had cut down many of the trees which I found fascinating. This painting is somewhat different than many of my other paintings because it featured a dead tree which I seldom paint but in this case the tree had such an unusual shape combined with the warm colors of the background, I thought it would work as a painting.
