This painting was done on location in Tarpon Spring, Florida. It must have been 100 degrees outside when I painted this. We filmed it at the same time for our “Painting and Travel with Roger and Sarah Bansemer” PBS television series. By the end of the painting and filming I was feeling faint but made it through. These shrimp boats sit there most of the time because of high fuel prices. Doesn’t make it practical or economical to go out on long runs anymore so they told me. I loved the weather worn features of the boats. The rusted portions and reflections of the cool water made for a beautiful sight to see and paint.
