The Round Barn was painted in Ohio on a very large farm that grew corn primarily for the popcorn industry. The barn is over 100 years old. During the time I was painting this scene and filming the program many large trucks passed right in front of us picking up huge loads of corn as it was harvest season. Sarah toured the barn and we filmed the history of the historic structure. The painting deals with issues of painting round objects in perspective. I ended up putting a stormy sky in the painting giving the picture a bit more interest. The sun highlights the corn field in the background.
