This painting is double matted with a remarque on the mat. The fish in the painting is called a Rat Tail and although not seen often, both times I dove in the Russian submersible Mir I to the depth of 12,500 feet to view the Titanic’s resting place,  I spotted one swimming near the bow almost like a guardian of the ship.
