We visited the famous Wooden Boat School in Brooklin, Maine. I did this painting early in the morning and at the end of the session it began to sprinkle, even so the light was beautiful and I finished the painting. Small pools of water had not yet drained off into the Atlantic and were of special interest to me. Warm tones in the foreground helped make a nice contrast to the cooler ones in the back. This painting was one of our PBS television episodes of “Painting and Travel.”
